The second installment by The Last Shadow Puppets finally comes out of the darkness, and not without some surprises. It must be said that after eight long years of waiting, aborted and uncompleted projects, hopes and rumours, it was getting difficult to imagine Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) and Miles Kane (The Rascals) releasing another dual effort. As influenced as ever by the golden age of English music (yes, we're talking about the sixties and seventies), the pair deliver an album in the line with their hugely successful debut. Classy pop, acoustic guitar, well-executed vocals and an overall airy feeling... The Last Shadow Puppets are paving a way that is openly different to that chosen by Oasis or Babyshambles. They are accompanied here by young violin prodigy from electronic music, Owen Pallett, to whom they entrust the burden of caring for string arrangements on the album. This latest effort from the Puppets should give fans enough to chew on for another 8 years...
