Following a name change (dropping the "We Are" from We Are Augustines) and a move across the country from Brooklyn to Seattle, Augustines returned with their second album, the first since 2011's enthused Rise Ye Sunken Ships. The band worked with producer Peter Katis (known for his work with big names like Interpol and the National) at his Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Together the band and Katis crafted the anthemnic and empowering emotional landscapes of the self-titled album, finding a sonic middle ground between the soul-searching epics of U2 circa The Joshua Tree and more contemporary reference points, like the impassioned croon of Bon Iver or Mumford & Sons.
