Many folks know the Oak Ridge Boys best for their pop/country crossover hits like "Elvira," but the legendary vocal quartet has a long history with gospel music that goes back to their earliest days, when they were strictly a gospel group. A GOSPEL JOURNEY finds the Oak Ridge Boys revisiting those roots, lending their lungs to the likes of "Jesus is the Man (For the Hour)" and "Just a Little Talk With Jesus." The group's familiar vocal blend slides easily into its old sonic apparel throughout this collection, but just to remind listeners of the Boys' secular side, they throw in "Elvira" too.
