On the 3rd of August 2006, one of the greatest voices of the 20th century fell silent.

To say that she was one of the greatest sopranos of the 20th century would be an understatement. Her exemplary diction and impressive musical genius helped bring out the poetry of what she was singing, and 10 years ago, to the day, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf died, aged 90, at her house in Schruns, Austria.
