Grabado en directo en 1989 en el antiguo emplazamiento del Muro de Berlín, la obra maestra introspectiva de Roger Waters celebra el final público de la Guerra Fría con un reparto plagado de estrellas entre músicos y actores. The Scorpions abren con una versión majestuosa al estilo Queen de "In the Flesh". Waters y Ute Lemper cantan a dúo en "The Thin Ice", que lleva al amenazador "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 1". Otros temas destacados son la interpretación conmovedora de Sinéad O'Connor del tema "Mother", acompañada por Band, y la enternecedora versión de Van Morrison en "Comfortably Numb".
