¿A qué puede dedicarse uno en la vida si no a la música cuando tus padres son Waylon Jennings y Jessie Colter? Desde luego, Shooter Jennings lleva a las espaldas una pesada carga, con la que es casi imposible lidiar. Al igual que Hank Jr, este hijo de se ha visto obligado a buscar una identidad musical propia. Y además es todo un personaje, entusiasta de las armas de fuego, los iconos outlaw y el viejo Tennessee, como buen representante del country rock sureño de nuestros días. En su primer álbum, Put The O Back In Country, publicado en 2004, nos informaba de su amor por George Jones. Con su look característicamente redneck, su voz nasal y sus atrabiliarios e imperfectos discos no resultaba difícil enternecerse escuchando al hijo del gran Waylon. Y en su último trabajo, de título epónimo, este chiflado del country-rock-electrónico homenajea a… ¡Giorgio Moroder! Sí, al profeta de la disco music, célebre por la banda sonora de El expreso de medianoche, que recientemente volvía a la palestra invitado por Daft Punk a colaborar en Random Access Memories. Con la ayuda de Dave Cobb, Shooter Jennings entrega un álbum que él mismo califica como el más country de su carrera.
