This Bullseye release from blues harpist Willie Cobbs puts his unmistakable Memphis soul mixed with Mississippi delta hybrid into action. Jukin' (not to be confused with Little Walter's Juke) succeeds as Cobbs mission statement to keep soul-blues alive as a vital part of the musical landscape into the new millennium. Cobbs voice is similar to Little Walter and much like his harmonica playing: gritty, and seasoned. Versions of "Reconsider Baby," "You're So Fine," "Mean Old World," and "Please Send Me Someone to Love" are combined with tight horn arrangements and consistently engaging guitar and organ work.
