The sparkling pop of FIND YOURSELF HERE, the debut full-length from suburban Philly’s The Scenic, has the sonic sophistication and melodic sensibility of an older, more experienced band. It can be hard to set aside the emo-pop wheat from the chaff these days, but Scenic stands out on swinging, sing-along songs like “Bon Voyage Mr. Bones” and the sensitive, lighter-holding, falsetto-and-piano balladry of “Take Your Time.” It’s not hard to imagine cute teens in hoodies all over America falling in love over summer vacation to FIND YOURSELF HERE.
