The Best of the Pirates of the Mississippi does an effective job of chronicling the majority of the band's biggest hits from the '90s. Most of the familiar radio tracks are featured, including "Honky Tonk Blues," "Rollin' Home," "Speak of the Devil," "Til I'm Holding You Again," and the bands biggest hit, "Feed Jake." This single disc is a fine introduction to the band who successfully mixed traditional country with rock-oriented pop arrangements.
