Sessimè

Born in Covè on February 20, 1984, Beninese singer Sèssimè, whose real name is Bidossessi Christelle Guédou, showed an early interest in music and dance. Inspired as much by the aura of an international star like Michael Jackson as by the charisma of African diva Angélique Kidjo, she turned to afropop, zouk and traditional music, opting for her stage name Sèssimè in reference to her first name Bidossèssi, which means "Everything is in God's hands". Her career really took off in 2007 with her success on the Coca-Cola Star Promo reality show. That same year, she released her first album, Pourquoi, which was widely supported by radio and TV stations. In 2011, she enjoyed even greater success with an EP entitled Wazakoua, which featured tracks such as "Sètché ho" and "Moulé té " and earned her several distinctions, including the Kora Award for "Best Female Hope of the African Continent" in 2012. She subsequently enriched her discography with numerous titles, including "Yayayé" in 2015, a duet with Almok, "Fana Fana" the same year with Rico Amaj, "Officializé" in 2017, "Tololi" and "Je ne vois que toi" (duet with Mister Leo) in 2019, "Guigo" and "Accro" in 2020, "Tatouage" in 2021, "Daaga" in 2022 and "Amour" in 2023.
