Laymen Twaist

Quebec pop group founded in 1986, made up of Jean-François Aubé, Paul Dubé and Stanley Hilaire. Laymen Twaist won the 1988 Empire of Future Stars contest. That same year, they released their first single, " Je n'aurais jamais dû t'aimer ". They record a bilingual EP in 1990, including a cover of Lou Reed's hit " Walk on the Wild Side ", which is a hit in English-speaking Canada. The following year, the band released their first album, À l'Ombre du Lis . The songs " Belle ", " Encore une heure " and " Le Bal des anges " reach the Quebec radio charts. At the end of 1991, the trio became a duo with the departure of Paul Dubé. Their second album, Funkadélique , released in 1994, was not very successful. Laymen Twaist returned to the charts the following year with their interpretation of Joe Dassin's " Et si tu n'existais pas ". This was followed by Technicolore in 1996, and a self-titled opus in 2000. The following year, Jean-François Aubé left the duo, marking the end of the group.
