Dennis Farnon
Dennis Farnon is the young brother of the late soundtrack, light classical, and pop composer Robert Farnon. His primary instrument was the trumpet, but he also gravitated toward composition and, like his better-known elder sibling, made part of his career in England, writing library music for the BBC -- some of the latter turned up in the scoring for the Dr. Who episode "The Tenth Planet" in the second half of the 1960s. The younger Farnon also spent a good part of his career in Chicago, and among his other work -- in addition to conducting and arranging pop-instrumental music, including material now identified as "space age pop" -- he wrote the background scores to the Mr. Magoo cartoons.
