Fat White Family are straight out of therapy. A less chaotic band led by Lias Saoudi and Saul Adamczewski arrive coolly and elegantly back on the scene after Champagne Holocaust (2013) and Songs for Our Mothers (2016), two drug-fueled punk records that left the battered working-class Londoners on their knees. Adamczewski went through bands Warmduscher, Insecure Men and Moonlandingz without setting foot at home, making us think that the ‘trash family’ was finished. Serfs Up! achieves a tour de force barely imaginable. Recorded in Sheffield in their studio with the faithful Liam D. May, this third album celebrates the best of the what is atrocious, be it an orgy of glam rock, punk and pop, violins and fake church choirs. The highlight of the ten songs, Tastes Good with the Money ends with a collaboration with Baxter Dury.
