Marusha
German female DJ Marusha (born Marusha Gleiss) burst into the local electronica scene in 1990 while playing techno music at a radio show called Dancehall (renamed Rave Satellite soon after) and captivating young audiences with Feuerreiter, her own TV program. In 1994, after issuing "Ravechannel," "Whatever Turns You," and "Go Ahead," Marusha became a major number in the German dance music field with the release of a techno version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"; achieving a Viva Comet Award as Best Techno Act and an Echo Award as Best Local Female Artist in 1995. In addition to issuing 1994's Raveland and 1995's Wir, Marusha started traveling around the world to be part of major parties and rave events such as Mayday and Berlin's Love Parade. In 2002, Proton released Nonstop, the follow-up to her 1998 full-length record No Hide No Run.
