Gabe Dixon

Singer/songwriter Gabe Dixon emerged in the early 2000's, fronting his piano-led rock outfit the Gabe Dixon Band. Influenced by jazz, funk, and classic rock icons like Elton John and Jackson Browne, he formed the group in the late-90's while attending the University of Miami. Following their self-released debut, Dixon and the group relocated to New York City where they landed a deal with Warner Bros. to release 2002's On a Rolling Ball. A year prior to the album's release, Dixon provided keyboards and backing vocals for Paul McCartney's album Driving Rain and performed live with McCartney at the 9/11 benefit show Concert For New York City. A second Warner-issued release, Live at World Cafe, arrived in 2005 after which the band signed with Fantasy to release a 2008 self-titled set. In 2010, after a decade of working together, Dixon decided to disband his group and focus on recording his first solo effort, 2011's One Spark. Produced by Marshall Altman in Dixon's new home base of Nashville, his solo debut featured a guest performance from Alison Krauss. His follow-up, 2016's Turn To Gold, featured a more organic approach, recorded live to tape and boasting a more folk-based sound.
