Vanille

A young artist whose debut album was announced in 2016 with the single "Moi garçon", Vanille (born 1988) is none other than the daughter of Virginie Coupérie-Eiffel (great-great-granddaughter of Gustave Eiffel) and the famous singer Julien Clerc. In 2015, she had already made a name for herself with the track "L'Eau qui dort", but also two songs in English, "I Heard You", and "Phantasm (Leave Me Alone)". With her mutinous 1980s pop, borrowing sounds from Lio and Indochine, she creates a fresh, spontaneous and liberated universe that is also wild, intimate and mysterious, not to say mystical. If her illustrious father has refused to work with her, it's because he considers her best help to be her advice, even revealing: "I find her courageous, because it's even harder today than it was then. I can be ruthless, especially when I think it's not finished or complete". Vanille therefore preferred to try out a number of small scenes before she felt ready to take the plunge.
