Tiffany Haddish

American standup comedian and actor Tiffany Haddish overcame years of hardship to emerge as the breakthrough star from the 2017 film Girls Trip. Influenced by Richard Pryor, Dane Cook, and the Wayans Brothers, she used comedy as an outlet to cope with the pain. With a biting wit and uncensored voice, Haddish transformed her childhood pain and early career struggles -- years in the foster care system and living out of her car -- into honest comedic material that she showcased on Def Comedy Jam and her own special, She Ready: From the Hood to Hollywood. Early roles included parts on television shows like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, That's So Raven, New Girl, The Carmichael Show, and If Loving You Is Wrong, as well as on the Key & Peele film Keanu. In 2017, after the success of Girls Trip, she became the first Black female standup comedian to host Saturday Night Live. To conclude her banner year, she became a New York Times best-selling author with her memoir, The Last Black Unicorn.
