Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider
Violinist and conductor Nikolag Szeps-Znaider was born in Copenhagen Denmark on July 5, 1975. As a violinist, he has won numerous awards including first prize at the Fourth International Carl Nielsen International Music Competition (1992), third prize at the International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition (1995), and first prize at the Queen Elizabeth Music Competition (1997). As a conductor, he held the position of principal guest conductor for the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and the Marlinsky Theatre Orchestra, as well as appearing with the Orchestre national de Lyon in 2017. Before becoming the President of the Carl Nielsen Competition, he spent a decade as Founder and Artistic Director of the annual Nordic Music Academy summer school. Nikolag Szeps-Znaider’s recorded legacy includes titles such as Queen Elisabeth Competition - Violin 1997, Prokofiev - Glazunov – Tchaikovsky (2002), Bravo! Virtuoso & Romantic Encores for Violin (2003), Brahms & Korngold: Violin Concertos (2009), Mozart: Violin Concertos Nos 1, 2 & 3 (2018), and Aux Étoiles - French Symphonic Poems (2023).
