Manuel Cuesta
Spanish singer/songwriter from Sevilla Manuel Cuesta was strongly influenced by a Latin style known as Canto Nuevo or Nueva Canción, which is characterized by easy listening tunes, normally performed by a single vocalist backed by acoustic guitars, singing philosophic lyrics based on life and people, sometimes focused on social issues. Admiring artists such as Silvio Rodríguez and Joan Manuel Serrat, Cuesta started singing romantic ballads and released Perfil De Juglar in 2000, which includes a song inspired by Ricardo Franco's movie Lágrimas Negras.
