Josey

Real name Gnakrou Josée Priscille, the Ivorian singer of coupé-décalé, afro-zouk, contemporary RnB, soul music and afro-dance Josey, was born on June 29, 1989 in Abidjan. She was so quickly drawn to music that she joined a rap group during her high school years. This group, called Quarantaine (40T'N), gradually enabled her to enter the professional world, and after meeting JC Karma and DJ Kalif, she took part in recordings by Marteau Pilon, Eric Didia "Roro" and Tus-Ty. At the same time, she gained stage experience performing in various cabarets. In 2012, she took part in an African competition designed to detect new vocal talent, which gave her greater media exposure. Thanks to this, she followed up with new collaborations, with Tour 2 Garde or Kil'Heur & Rikwane, and in 2014 released the single "On fait rien avec ça", which soon racked up millions of views on social networks and was soon followed by "Diplôme" , which earned her the nicknameWomen's Advocate. With her next singles, "You Galoh", "Nagniouma" and "Jour J-0", her reputation was consolidated. In 2018, two years after winning her first Kundé d'Or for Best Artist in West Africa for her track "Diplôme", she joined the jury of The Voice Afrique francophone. In 2021, after winning a second Kundé d'Or for her track "Zambeleman", she released her debut album Cocktail, followed in 2022 by the Phoenix EP.
