F.F.F.
F.F.F. or Fédération Française de Fonk was founded in Paris in 1987 with members Marco Prince (vocals), Yarol Poupaud (guitar), Nicolas Baby (bass) and Christian "Krichou" Montieux (drums) Montieux (drums). Influenced by rock, funk and metal, the band made a name for themselves at the Transmusicales de Rennes festival in 1990, releasing their acclaimed album Blast Culture the following year, recorded in New York with Bill Laswell, followed by a tour that included support for George Clinton. The flamboyant style of fusion groups such as Living Colour and Fishbone infused the second album, Free for Fever (1993), this time recorded in England. An untitled third album, released in 1996, was followed by a Victoires de la Musique award-winning tour and the live recording Vivants in 1997. Returning in 2000 for a concert at the Stade de France, followed by the album Vierge, FFF took a break for several years, giving way to the activities of Marco Prince in music for the screen and Yarol Poupaud, Johnny Hallyday's regular guitarist. Reformed in 2007 for the Solidays festival, then in 2013 for the Rebirth Tour, the band returned to the studio, first for the track "Monkee " (2017), then for the album I Scream (2023), which reached number 101 in the SNEP chart.
