Daniel Cook
British organist, choral conductor, and educator Daniel Cook began his music studies at Durham Cathedral, primarily working with organist Keith Wright. After spending a year as an organ scholar at Worcester Cathedral, he entered the Royal Academy of Music, where his teachers included Nicolas Kynaston, Patrick Russill, and James O'Donnell. Cook also took part in master classes with Marie-Claire Alain, Jon Laukvik, and Lionel Rogg. He served as organ scholar at Southwark Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, and in 2003 graduated from the Royal Academy with highest honors. From 2003 until 2005, he was assistant organist of Westminster Abbey, then rose to the position of sub-organist. Cook is the assistant director of music and the principal organist of the Westminster Abbey Choir. He is also the artistic director of the Mousai Singers, and the curator of JAM on the Marsh, a festival designed to show off the churches around Romney Marsh in Kent. Cook maintains an active schedule of cathedral services and recitals, and also performs internationally as a choral conductor and singer. He has recorded exclusively for Priory Records.
