Björn Stabi
With his performance at the 1964 Newport Folk Festival as part of a duo with Ole Hjorth, Bjorn Stabi became the first traditional Swedish fiddler to perform in the United States. According to www.rootsworld.com, Stabi's performance was "filled with sonorous harmonies and exotic melodies." On his solo album, Orsalator, Stabi paid homage to the music of his ancestral home in Orsa. During the 1970s, Stabi collaborated with Pers Hans Olsson.
