Cloé du Trèfle
Singer-songwriter Cloé Defossez was born in Brussels on May 4, 1977. A classically trained pianist, she took part in her journalism school's festival with a band she set up for the occasion, Clover's Cloé. The English-language pop-rock band released an album in 2002, Tales from my Skycraper. Clover's Cloé went on to write several film scores and learn electric guitar before being challenged to sing in French. In 2004, she released Sapristi under the name Cloé du Trèfle, which became her stage name. She received the Coup de Cœur de l'Académie Charles Cros for her second album Microclimat (2007). She turns to more electro sounds to release a concept album, Hasards de trajectoires(2010), recounting an urban epic unfolding in real time. It won the Octave de la Musique award for best French chanson album. Cloé performs in concert all over the world. In 2013, she recorded D'une nuit à l'autre, revolving around the theme of exile and including testimonials and micro-trotters, and in 2017 Entre l'intime et l'infini, on which the cello mingles with samplers. Vertige horizontal (2019) is released on a Brazilian label, and includes previously unreleased material, remixes and tours of South America. During her confinement in 2020, the multi-talented artist hasn't been idle, working on music for musical shows and films. She has also put together the " Brûler- Danser" project , an electronic tale with slam poet Lisette Lombé, which is playing numerous dates.
