Animal Logic
Experimental pop unit Animal Logic began in 1987 as a long-discussed collaboration between ex-Police drummer Stewart Copeland and jazz fusion bass virtuoso Stanley Clarke; after wading through hundreds of demo tapes and auditions, the duo discovered Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Deborah Holland, recruiting Copeland's former bandmate Andy Summers to complete the original lineup. Initially dubbed Rush Hour, the group toured Brazil prior to adopting the Animal Logic name, soon entering the studio (minus Summers) to record their self-titled 1989 debut LP. Animal Logic II followed in 1991 and was the trio's final effort.
