Almas Mudas
With a style echoing the youthful swagger of the early Strokes and a sound inspired by the Brit-pop of the '90s, Almas Mudas emerged as one of Spain's brightest young indie talents. Frontman Miguel Rived, guitarists Simon Franco and Alberto Solobera, bassist David Idiope, and drummer Pedro Presa formed in Zaragoza in 2005, and after touring their hometown's live circuit, reached the final of the city's annual Popyrock contest. The band's profile received a boost when their music was used on TV shows Un Golpe de Suerte and Doctor Mateo, and after signing to Warner Bros, they teamed up with Kim Fanlo (Nena Daconte) to record their debut album. Featuring the singles "Big Bang" and "Estilo Bowie," and a collaboration with Heroes del Silencio's Juan Valdivia, Pura Velocidad was released in 2011.
