Wrong
Wrong is a Minneapolis-based noise rock collective based around the duo of guitarists John Vance and Emil Hagstrom, along with whoever else happens to be on stage or in the studio with them at the time. The improvisational group formed in mid-1994 and released the first of many self-released cassettes, Secular Humanist Revival, later that year. Don't Get the Wrong Idea followed in 1995, along with untitled split cassettes with Noggin, the Finland Subterraund, and Das Ludicroix.
After several more tape-only releases, including Two Rites in the Hand Don't Make a Wrong in the Bush, Right Place Wrong Time, If Lovin' You Is Right, I Wanna Be Wrong, and the eight track-only release Wrong Side of the Tracks, Wrong finally made their vinyl debut on a 1996 split single with the group Tranquil. The group slowed their prodigious output in 1996 and 1997, only making appearances on a handful of compilations, before finally releasing their first CD, a massive two-disc, 33-track set called In the Wrong. After that magnum opus, the duo's productivity dropped even further. A one-sided LP of an April 1995 recording session was released as Vaginum in late 1998, followed by a collection of solo recordings by Hagstrom released as The Customer Is Always Wrong in 1999. A CD comprising a pair of live sets from 1996 and 1998, Live At Even Furthur/High Society, came out in 2000.
