The Heavy Heavy

Led by British bandmates Will Turner and Georgie Fuller, The Heavy Heavy is a UK-based rock & roll band with psychedelic influences. The group formed in 2020 in Brighton, East Sussex. Both members were longtime musicians, with Turner having previously performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival as a teenaged vocalist. Influenced by acts like The Hollies, Delaney & Bonnie, and former Fleetwood Mac frontman Peter Green, The Heavy Heavy began creating a nostalgic sound rooted in fuzz guitar textures, male-female vocal harmonies, and melodies that recalled not only the British Invasion, but also the glory days of early-1970s rock music. They introduced this sound with "Go Down River," the first song recorded for The Heavy Heavy's Life and Life Only EP. Released by the American label ATO Records in 2022, the six-song EP marked the duo's studio debut. A number of television shows showcased the record's material, with programs like Outer Range, Manifest, Walker, and Superman & Lois all utilizing songs like "Sleeping On Grassy Ground" and "All My Dreams" in various prime-time episodes. Meanwhile, the song "Miles and Miles" became a genuine radio hit, too, reaching Number 43 on Billboard's Rock Airplay chart and Number 9 on the Adult Alternative Songs chart in the US.
