Mike Jay
Contemporary R&B songwriter, producer, and recording artist Mike Jay, who has been credited as Miguel Jiminez (his birth name), Michael Jiminez, Mike J, and Rico Law, was born in Detroit, Michigan and developed his talents as a youth in the church -- specifically Perfecting Church, with Marvin Winans as his pastor. At the age of eight, Jiminez and his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia. His first credits came as a teenager, beginning in 2009 with K. Michelle's "Self Made," Fabolous' "Salute," and R. Kelly's "Bangin' the Headboard." In 2012, he contributed to his first major single, Chris Brown's high-gloss dance-pop anthem "Turn Up the Music," which peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. For Raffaela's "Going Crazy," released the same year, he worked beside Mario Winans (Marvin Winans' stepson). The following year, Jiminez's accomplishments included work on Trevor Jackson's "We Grown," Marcus Canty's "Stay in Love," Ciara's "One Night with You," and TGT's "Our House." After he signed to Virgin, he released a four-track EP, The Mike Jay EP, in 2014. YG and Too $hort were featured on "For a Week."
