Melissa Lawson
Contemporary country singer Melissa Lawson was catapulted to stardom as the winner of the fourth season of the television talent show Nashville Star. A then 32-year-old married mother of five, Lawson was originally considered a long shot but her powerful vocals and perky stage presence carried the day. Following the competition, the Texas native's first single, "What If It All Goes Right," shot to the top of the digital charts, she sang at the 2008 summer Olympic games, and she began recording her debut album with producer Big & Rich.
