Luc Cousineau

Born on September 19, 1944 in Sherbrooke (Canada) and died on May 6, 2017 in the Estrie region (Canada), Luc Cousineau was a Quebec folk singer. He began his career in 1965, forming the duo Les Alexandrins with his wife Lise Vachon. The group changed its name in 1970 to Luc et Lise and in 1972 to Cousineau. In 1973, the group disbanded and both members embarked on individual careers. In 1975, he founded his own production company, Airedale. The following year, he released a self-titled album containing the biggest hit of his career, the song " Vivre en amour ". Over the next six years, he released four LPs: Schlack. .. in 1976, his second self-titled album in 1979, the 1981 opus Comme Tout l' Monde, which he co-wrote with Pierre Létourneau, and whose title track topped the radio charts, and Comme Ça Vient in 1982. He released another opus in 1989, Connivence, before taking a break from songwriting. During the 1990s, he composed music for films, TV series and commercials. He returned to recording in 2001 with the album J'Laisse Aller, and the same year, his song " Vivre en amour " was used for a milk commercial in Quebec, bringing it back into rotation on Quebec radio stations. In 2013, he learned that he had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and that his days were numbered. Just before his death in 2017, he released the Salut la Vie! EP, featuring five previously unreleased songs from his repertoire.
