Endoh Masaaki

Japanese singer-songwriter Masaaki Endoh (遠藤正明) was born on August 28, 1967 in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan and has often been referred to by the nickname "Young Lion of Anison."

After graduating from high school he joined a band called The Hiptones, later becoming one half of the acoustic duo Short Hopes after The Hiptones parted ways. He made his debut as a solo artist in 1995 but continued to forge collaborations throughout the '90s and '00s, becoming involved with the duo Metal Brothers with Hironobu Kageyama in 1997 and 1998, as well as the group Blind Big. He also joined creative forces with the likes of Eizo Sakamoto, Rica Matsumoto in the '00s, but established a successful solo career as a singer-songwriter capable of turning his hand to rock as well as anime and tokusatsu productions, spanning debut 2003 album Chakuriku!! to 2017's V6 Engine, while stopping off at 2006's M.e. 2009's Circus Man and 2014's Present of the Voice. 2022 saw the release of new compilation, Masaaki Endoh: THE BEST, which went to number 59 in Japan.
