Dora Jar

Bay Area-bred singer and songwriter Dora Jar is known for her arty blend of folky, avant-garde-influenced pop. Along with opening for like-minded artists like Billie Eilish and Gracie Abrams, Jar first garnered buzz with 2021's Digital Meadow and 2022's Comfortably in Pain, EPs that introduced her intimate, sonically textured style. It was a hypnotic vibe she brought to full flower on 2024's No Way to Relax When You Are on Fire and singles like 2025's "Lucky."Born in New York City, Jar grew up in California's Bay Area with parents who introduced her to show tunes, opera, and jazz. In her teens, she attended an East Coast boarding school where she performed in musical theater and began writing songs. After graduating, she moved to Poland, where her father was originally from, to stay with family. There, she began posting her songs online and eventually caught the ear of London-based producer Jared Solomon, aka Solomonophonic. Encouraged by the attention, Jar eventually moved to London to further develop her sound. In 2021, she released her debut EP, Digital Meadow, which featured contributions by Solomonophonic, the Neighbourhood's Jesse Rutherford, and others. That same year, she joined the Neighbourhood on tour. Jar returned in 2022 with her sophomore EP, Comfortably in Pain, which again found her working with Solomonophonic. More tours followed, including opening slots with Billie Eilish and Jar's first North American headlining tour. She also released a handful of singles, including "Puppet" and "Timelapse," both of which appeared on her full-length debut, 2024's No Way to Relax When You Are on Fire. The following year, she joined Gracie Abrams on tour and delivered the atmospherically hushed single "Lucky."
