Dorsaf Hamdani
Tunisian Dorsaf Hamdani is both a musicologist and a singer. She began her singing career in 1991 after extensive studies at the Conservatoire National de Musique de Tunis. She remained faithful to her country's malouf style, performing with various orchestras. Dorsaf Hamdani went on to study musicology at the Sorbonne in Paris. This orientation opened the door for her to record Ivresses - Le Sacre de Khayyam with Iranian Alireza Ghorbani in 2011. In 2012, Dorsaf Hamdani tackles the repertoire of legends such as Oum Kalsoum, Fairouz and Asmahan on Princesses du Chant Arabe. Meanwhile, in February 2012, she released the album Melos in collaboration with percussionist Keyvan Chemirani. In 2014, she paid tribute to Barbara - Fairouz with accordionist Daniel Mille.
