The Wild Hymns

Based out of York, Pennsylvania, the Wild Hymns rose in the mid-2010s with a blend of enchanting folk-pop and earthy Americana interwoven with elements of gypsy jazz and rock & roll. Over a succession of albums that include 2016's This Burning Love and 2022's Eternal Return, their sound became more layered with a heavier emphasis on rock and dream pop nuances. Initially a solo endeavor by singer/songwriter Megan Woodland Hewitt, the project grew into a more collaborative affair featuring her husband, guitarist Jeff Hewitt, and a full band. Following their 2014 self-titled debut, the Wild Hymns toured regionally, establishing themselves and building up a following. They returned with a more fully developed sound on their sophomore LP, 2016's This Burning Love, then moved into a more textured and dreamy style of folk-pop on 2018's Stories with the Moon. This trend continued on the Wild Hymns' fourth release, 2022's sonically expansive and rock-based Eternal Return.
