Spotlight Kid
Inspired by the classic shoegaze and psychedelic rock acts of the '90s, Spotlight Kid formed in Nottingham, England in 2006. The lineup was comprised of dual vocalists Katty Heath and Rob McCleary, guitarist Chris Moore, bassist Matt Holt, drummer Chris Davis, and auxiliary member Karl Skivington playing various instruments. The band was quick to develop its hazy, guitar-driven sound and record debut album Departure. They followed in 2009 with a four-song EP entitled Crystal Dreams before releasing second album Disaster Tourist in 2011. The album was released first in the U.K., but found expanded distribution the next year. The band continued to develop its sound and play live, including a spot at the 2011 Glastonbury Festival. In 2014 their third full-length, Ten Thousand Hours, materialized.
