Kidda

Kidda is the stage name of Mërgim Kida (August 7, 1997), a Swedish rapper and urban artist of Albanian-descent. Born in Gävle to Kosovo immigrants but raised in Malmö, young Kida grew up in one of the poorest zones in the city and fully devoted himself to music in order to avoid a life of crime. He made his official debut in 2016 with the singles “In My Zone” and “Right Here.” “E Imja,” his first charting single, came out in 2017 and peaked at Number 36 on the Swiss charts. In 2018, “Flake,” his collaboration with popular Albanian artist Ermal Fejzullahu further raised Kida’s profile as it amassed millions of plays on his streaming channel. Follow-up single “Malli” arrived in 2020 and climbed up to Number 12 on the Albanian charts and hit Number 20 in Switzerland. That same year, the Latin-infused “Cataleya” also made its way to the Swiss charts, reaching Number 51.
