Julien Dassin
The son of the legendary New York-born French chanson star Joe Dassin and photographer Christine Delvaux, singer and actor Julien Dassin found fame thanks to several projects celebrating his family's legacy. Born in 1980, just six months before Joe died of a heart attack in Tahiti, he grew up learning about the impact his father had on French culture and, keen to investigate further, he teamed up with director Christophe Barratier in 2011 to produce the musical Il Etait une Fois...Joe Dassin, an innovative production that featured both his biggest hits and previously unreleased material. A year later he worked with co-star Florence Coste on Monsieur Montand, a tribute album to his grandfather Jules' close friend Yves Montand, which was released on the 20th anniversary of his death.
