Jonas Tomalty

Jonas Tomalty (August 8, 1979) is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Montreal. His musical beginnings date back to the late 90s, when he founded the band Rubberman in high school. Around that time, he also formed the blues side project Jonas & The Blues Blooded with his father Rick. In 2004, Jonas Tomalty made his solo debut with the EP Jonas, receiving two nominations at the 2006 Juno Awards in the New Artist of the Year and Rock Album of the Year categories. Preceded by the single "SuperSexMe," his sophomore effort Suite Life appeared in 2006, followed by 2007's Promised Land. Starting in 2010, Jonas Tomalty began performing with his band Jonas and the Massive Attraction, releasing the albums Big Slice (2010), Unplugged (2012), and Live Out Loud (2013). The latter included the Top 5 hit single "Respire." A year later, both "Je Crie Ton Nom" and the Marie-Mai duet "Jamais Trop Tard" reached the top of the charts in French-speaking Canada. Subsequently, Jonas Tomalty resumed his solo career with the singles "Closer" (2020) and "Comme Aucune Autre" (2021), which reached Number 36 on Canada AC's Top 50.
