instinct
Following the breakup of Pigbag, vocalist Angela Jaeger, bassist Simon Underwood, and guitarist James Johnstone formed Instinct. Signed to Trevor Horn's ZTT label, the trio made one recorded appearance on the 1985 label compilation Sampled. After recording a single that would never see the light of day, the band was in the process of making their full-length debut when a debate ensued between Horn and the group about the production (Horn's trademark massive sound did not go down well). Material failed to surface, and the group opted to quit. Jaeger went on to work with the Monochrome Set, the Bush Tetras, and Associates' singer Billy Mackenzie.
