Eva & The Heartmaker
Norwegian pop/rock duo Eva & the Heartmaker consist of Eva Weel Skram and Thomas Stenersen. Skram grew up in Sogndal, Norway, the daughter of a folksinging father. She moved to Oslo in 2004, and there she met Stenersen, a guitarist born in Bardufoss, Norway. They formed the group and married. Their first album, Behind Golden Frames, was recorded in Stenersen's studio. Skram found recognition competing on the talent show Pop Idol, and two songs by the duo were featured in the film Mars & Venus. They expanded the lineup into a full band with drummer Alf Magne Hillestad, bassist Ingar Blix, keyboard player Lars Kvistum, and percussionist/backup singer Anne Marte Nesdal, and returned to the studio to record a second album. After the track "Superhero" was leaked to radio, Eva & the Heartmaker signed to Sony Music, which released the album Let's Keep This Up Forever on September 22, 2009.
