Edu Falaschi
Eduardo Teixeira da Fonseca Vasconcellos, known as Edu Falaschi, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter born on May 18, 1972, in São Paulo. As a child, he was exposed to music through family gatherings and took up guitar lessons at 14. He began his professional music career as a vocalist and composer with the rock band Mitrium in 1990. They gained local recognition, releasing a split LP titled Eyes of Time in 1993, featuring tracks solely written by Edu Falaschi. He even garnered attention as one of the Brazilian singers selected in a global contest to find Iron Maiden's new vocalist, although he wasn't ultimately chosen. In 1998, Edu Falaschi produced and joined Symbols, a band led by his brother, Tito Falaschi. They released two albums: Symbols (1998) and Call to the End (2000). Around this time, Edu Falaschi also contributed to Venus's Ordinary Existence album. In 2000, Edu Falaschi became the lead singer of the heavy metal band Angra, a pivotal point in his career. During his tenure, the band released significant albums like Rebirth (2001), Temple of Shadows (2004), Aurora Consurgens (2006), and Aqua (2010). However, Edu Falaschi left Angra in 2012 due to health issues. Falaschi's solo project, Almah, originally started as a side gig in 2006 and eventually became his main musical project. The band has several releases, including Fragile Equality (2008) and Motion (2011). Additionally, Edu Falaschi has released a string of solo albums like Moonlight (2016) and Vera Cruz (2021). In 2023, he released Eldorado, his critically acclaimed fifth solo album, which peaked at number 82 on the Japanese Top 100.
