Doria D
With her blend of moody left-field pop and French hip-hop influences, Belgian singer/songwriter Doria D found breakout success with her 2021 single "Dépendance" and subsequent EP of the same name.
Hailing from the Belgian city of Louvain-la-Nueve, Doria D found her voice at a young age singing at her grandmother's retirement home and before long, taught herself to play the guitar. Playing a mix of covers and originals, she built a fan base by posting videos online and soon landed a couple of hometown gigs at the 2019 Welcome Spring Festival and Tremplin Emergenza. She was discovered by Belgian producer Manu Freson who helped Doria record her debut single.
Inspired by American pop artists like Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish and French rappers like Nekfeu, her 2021 single "Dépendance" was an immediate hit in Belgium and helped net her a deal with France's Jo & Co label. The six-track Dépendance EP appeared in June of that year.
