DESERT

Desert is the duo of Eloi Caballé and Cristina Checa, a pair of Spanish composer/producers. Their first single, "Camins/Desert," was released in January 2013 by Barcelona's Glitter End Records and introduced a version of synth pop with rich tonal percussion and airy vocals. A remix EP of the songs by electronic artists including Marc Piñol and ASTER followed in the fall, and the next spring, Desert performed at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. With more experimental electronic textures but still rooted in pop, the Envalira EP arrived later in 2014 via Buenritmo Records and Minty Fresh. Modern Obscure Music released 2015's Envalira Remixes, which included remakes by Sau Poler and Pedro Vian. Desert returned in the spring of 2017 with the single "Sense Likes" on the Cascine label.
