CPR
The trio CPR includes legendary rock figure David Crosby, his touring guitarist Jeff Pevar, and his son James Raymond on keyboards. Raymond, who grew up with adoptive parents and didn't know the name of his biological father until 1992, nevertheless studied music at California State University, San Bernardino and pursued a career in music. In 1994, Raymond finally arranged a meeting with Crosby; the two gelled after talking for just a few minutes, and began writing music together. Crosby decided to hire his son as a keyboard player for a 1996 tour, playing Byrds favorites like "Eight Miles High" along with a new Crosby-Raymond composition, "Morrison." Crosby, Pevar, and Raymond recorded CPR for a 1998 release on Samson Records; Live at the Wiltern followed a year later; Just Like Gravity appeared in June 2001. David Crosby died on January 18, 2023 at the age of 81.
