Chino Pacas

Chino Pacas brings a new flair to the storytelling corrido style. His 2023 song "El Gordo Trae el Mando" was streamed over 100 million times in its first few months of release, taking the narrative ballad into the charts as it exposed new listeners to Pacas' take on the Mexican tradition of corridos. Chino Pacas was born Cristian Humberto Avila Vega in Apaseo el Alto, Guanajuato, Mexico, in 2007. He was just 16 years old when he released his first single, "El Gordo Trae el Mando," in 2023, and it immediately caught on worldwide. The song entered the Billboard charts at number 84, making Pacas the youngest Mexican artist to achieve this level of chart success. As his modernized version of regional Mexican music continued to reach new listeners, he released the singles "Negro Como la Pantera" with collaborator and peer Calle 24 and "Los Verdes" in early 2023.
