Cano Estremera
Salsa bandleader/vocalist Cano Estremera (also known as White Estremera or "the White One," since he is albino) was born Carlos Enrique Estremera Columbus on September 2, 1958, in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Estremera discovered his love of music and singing as a youngster, when he would sing religious hymns in school, which eventually led to Estremera uniting with renowned bassist and trumpeter Bobby Valentin in 1978. The union between Estremera and Valentin lasted for six albums, before Estremera decided to give it a go on his own in 1984. Since then, Estremera has issued numerous solo recordings, including such titles as Salvaje '88, El Nino De Oro, Punto Y Aparte, and Dueno Del Soneo: Vol. 1, among others.
