The debut album from the South African singer, who formerly went by the name Nakhane Toure, is a powerful, confessional, erudite ode to self-expression. Combining techno-pop and soul, and at times reminiscent of Terence Trent d'Arby (as on the single "Interloper"), the album puts Nakhane's extraordinary, swooping voice front and center.
