Anyone seeking a quick primer on current Jamaican dancehall trends need look no further than the 12 tracks on this new release from Baby Wayne, proclaimed to be one of the hottest new DJ's on the island. While Wayne's rapid-fire rhyming and Niney The Observer's hornless, synthesizer-dominated production are on target with contemporary trends, the lyrics are not overloaded with overt sexuality. Instead, such songs as "Condition Poorer" and "A History" have a richness and political underpinning that hasn't been heard from many dancehall stars.
