Première compilation d’Alice In Chains, Nothing Safe semble entériner la fin du groupe, qui n’a plus rien sorti depuis 3 ans. Aperçu très sommaire de la carrière de l’un des groupes majeurs du heavy metal américain des années 1990, ce disque contient surtout les grands « tubes » du groupe, du premier classique « Man In The Box » jusqu’à « Got Me Wrong », issu du MTV Unplugged, en passant par le glaçant « Them Bones », le morbide Grind, et quelques titres des EP acoustiques. Plusieurs des meilleurs morceaux du groupe manquent et Nothing Safe fera surtout office de mise en bouche, pour quiconque voudrait découvrir ce groupe fascinant.
À noter : deux bons inédits ouvrent le disque, « Get Born Again » et la démo de « We Die Young », d’ailleurs meilleure que la version du premier album.
